About Lisa VanBockern.

Lisa VanBockern created and founded Skin Script Skin Care in 2007. Lisa began her education at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ and began a career in accounting and computer information systems. At the age of 40, Lisa discovered the beauty industry and quickly re-careered as an aesthetician within the medspa industry. In her excitement she pre-ordered the Milady’s Aesthetic textbook and read the entire textbook two weeks prior to the start of her aesthetic school. As an aesthetician she became passionate about designing products and procedures to truly create a difference on each individual client. Her passion was found!

After many years Lisa worked with a chemist designing products both for homecare and in the treatment room to achieve distinguishable results. She launched Skin Script in 2007 and took it to the aesthetic market in 2008. Skin Script soon became the “go to” product line for fruit-based enzymes. Her avenues of marketing included in-person product knowledge trainings and trade shows throughout the United States. Lisa’s motto is “Education Will Set You Free” regardless of what industry you choose. Never stop learning. Never stop searching for your passion.

“Find Your Passion Scholarship” Esthetics Student Scholarship, funded by Lisa VanBockern, Founder of Skin Script Skin Care. This scholarship is funded from the VanBockern-Dean Family Foundation and is open to newly accepted or currently enrolled esthetics students in an accredited school or institution that leads to licensure in the U.S.

$18,000 in Scholarships per Season

(1) One $5,000 | (1) One $3,000 | (5) Five $2,000 – (7) Seven Total Scholarships per season

Scholarship Applications open for the Summer 2025 season, from June 1, 2025 – July 31, 2025.

Applicant Qualifications

• Must be a new or currently enrolled student in an esthetics program in an accredited school or institution in the U.S.
• The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school or institution.

Application Requirements

1. Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment in an esthetics program by uploading your: progress report, or official acceptance letter from the school.
2. Submit a 3-minute maximum, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions:

• Please describe how receiving this scholarship would set you on your path to achieving your short-term and long-term goals?
• Describe when you discovered that becoming an aesthetician is your PASSION and WHY?
• As Lisa’s motto is “Education Will Set You Free'” how do you see the importance of education now and continuing education throughout your life?

This scholarship is for students that love hair coloring. Show our judges your three (3) favorite hair coloring techniques for a chance to win this scholarship category.

Eligibility Requirements

• The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school/institution.
• This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in a cosmetology program that leads to licensure at an accredited school/institution in the United States.

OPI’S  “OPI’m Dreaming”  Nail Technology Student Scholarship will be awarded through the Beauty Changes Lives Foundation and is open to newly accepted or currently enrolled students in a nail technology program that leads to licensure in the U.S. or Canada.

The OPI’S “OPI’m Dreaming” Nail Technology Student Scholarship applicant qualifications are:

• Must be a new or currently enrolled student in a nail technology program from an accredited school/institution within the U.S. and Canada.
• The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program.

Application Requirements

1. Complete online application and submit proof of enrollment / acceptance in a nail technology program. You must upload either an enrollment document, official acceptance letter, or progress report from the school.
2. Submit a 3-minute maximum, YouTube video with a public link answering the following questions (if the video exceeds the 3-minute requirement the application will be declined):
