  • The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school/institution.
  • This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in a cosmetology program that leads to licensure at an accredited school/institution in the state of New York.
  • The applicant must identify as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.

PCA SKIN® “Diversity in Esthetics” Student Scholarship requires the following qualifications to be eligible:

  • This scholarship is available to either an ethnic minority (including but not limited to: Black or African American; Hispanic or Latino; Native American; Pacific Islander; or Asian);
  • OR a person who identifies as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community;
  • OR a person with a medically documented disability, as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO).
  • This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in an esthetics program that leads to licensure at an accredited school in the U.S.
  • The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school or institution.
  • In some financial need (i.e. not receiving a full or partial scholarship(s) and/or grant(s) that cover and/or exceed one’s educational expenses).
  • Willingness to allow PCA SKIN®to use his/her/their name, photo, and/or story in future scholarship materials, company communications, and social media channels.

DERMALOGICA ‘”NEW BEGINNINGS” ESTHETICS SCHOLARSHIP 2022

Dermalogica has generously funded the “New Beginnings” Esthetics Scholarship 2022. For nearly 40 years, Dermalogica has empowered skin therapists to unleash their potential. The New Beginnings Esthetics Scholarship is open to students who are newly accepted or currently enrolled in an esthetics program at a Dermalogica partner school, and identify as Black, Indigenous, or persons of color. The esthetics student scholarship will be awarded through Beauty Changes Lives.

Green Circle Salons – Environmental Beauty Scholarship

Green Circle Salons – “Environmental Beauty” for cosmetology and barbering students in the professional beauty industry that leads to licensure. This scholarship is open to currently enrolled cosmetology and barbering students in an accredited school or institution for the 2022 programs and will be awarded through the Beauty Changes Lives Organization.

The Beauty Industry creates 877 lbs. of waste per minute! Green Circle Salons is a movement to empower salons and beauty professionals to offset their carbon emissions and recover up to 95% of their beauty waste. Green Circle Salons has been building a network of more than 16,000 Waste Warriors, schools and advanced academies throughout Canada and the United States and providing them with a comprehensive pathway to financial and environmental sustainability with a green business program. Today, Green Circle Salons has diverted almost 8 ½ million pounds of waste from landfill spaces and waterways since 2009.

  • Must be a new or currently enrolled student in a cosmetology or barbering program in an accredited school or institution in the U.S. or Canada.

JERRY ALEXANDER GORMAN FOUNDATION “THE PASSION TO SUCCEED” SCHOLARSHIP

Jerry Alexander Gorman lived a life dedicated to his passion for the professional beauty industry. As a young man, with a new family to support, he took evening classes to become a licensed cosmetologist, while working full-time during the day. His perseverance for success did not stop there. After working for years as a hairdresser, he soon opened his first salon, and many years later became a national sales manager for a major manufacturer of salon and home beauty products. After years of experience, he channeled his love for the industry and decided to give back by becoming a successful and beloved educator.

In that spirit, his family formed the Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation in his memory in 2015. The foundation was created with its main emphasis on awarding scholarships for students, specifically to those living in lower income families, to support their education to any discipline within the professional beauty industry.

The Jerry Alexander Gorman Foundation “The Passion to Succeed” Student Scholarship was formed to support those in need to achieve their goal of becoming a licensed professional. Scholarship Description & Award Information

L’Oréal Professionnel prides itself on demonstrating one of their core values to support diversity and equality within the hairdressing profession, the scholarship awards up to $5,000 in tuition funding for students enrolled or accepted in a cosmetology program at any accredited institution whose service demonstrates a commitment to justice, equity, and diversity.

This scholarship will be offered annually to those interested in a career in the professional beauty industry. In addition, each winner is eligible to be included into a mentoring / coaching program designed for cosmetology students during their time in school and for 1 year POST Graduation.

The Empowering Diversity Scholarship is dedicated to the memory of Sheena Coleman, a much-loved member of the L’Oréal Professionnel Education Team who sadly passed away in 2020. Sheena’s love and passion for educating and inspiring others will live on as we dedicate the Empowering Diversity Scholarship in her memory.

Circadia Sage Michaela Lucas Timing is Everything Scholarship -Esthetics

The Sage Michaela Lucas Timing is Everything scholarship is generously funded by Circadia, a pioneer in the science of chronobiology and skincare. The Sage Michaela Lucas Timing is Everything award celebrates diversity, inclusivity and affirmation. 

The scholarship is open to esthetics students enrolled in an accredited program and who identify as black, indigenous or persons of color (BIPOC). The scholarship grant targets esthetic students pursuing a career in aesthetics, skincare formulation and/or cosmetic chemistry.

Award Amount: 3 (three) $5,000 tuition scholarships will be awarded.

Applicant Qualifications:

  • The applicants must identify as a person of color to qualify: BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or person of color)
  • This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in an esthetics program that leads to licensure in the U.S. or Canada.

Judging: A panel of judges representing the professional skincare sector will evaluate awardees’ video submissions and select winners.

In 1978, Horst Rechelbacher founded the Aveda Corporation, a global plant-based cosmetic company, & ushered a new consciousness into the world of beauty. Two decades later, he shifted focus to Intelligent Nutrients, a health & beauty company that lives to the highest standards of certified organic ingredients to sustainable plant-based chemistry. All of Horst’s innovations revolved around beauty products that would care for professionals, their guests & the planet through the power of pure flower & plant essences.

Horst’s entrepreneurial vision is to create successful businesses in partnership with nature. As he puts it, “Business can be a solution to our planet’s crisis rather than the problem. This scholarship is for prospective or currently enrolled student of the beauty industry. The “Sustainable Beginnings” scholarship is designed to financially support those seeking licensure in the fields of esthetics.

Scholarship Description & Award Information

In 1978, Horst Rechelbacher founded the Aveda Corporation, a global plant-based cosmetic company, & ushered a new consciousness into the world of beauty. Two decades later, he shifted focus to Intelligent Nutrients, a health & beauty company that lives to the highest standards of certified organic ingredients to sustainable plant-based chemistry. All of Horst’s innovations revolved around beauty products that would care for professionals, their guests & the planet through the power of pure flower & plant essences.

Horst’s entrepreneurial vision is to create successful businesses in partnership with nature. As he puts it, “Business can be a solution to our planet’s crisis rather than the problem. This scholarship is for prospective or currently enrolled student of the beauty industry. The “Sustainable Beginnings” scholarship is designed to financially support those seeking licensure in the fields of cosmetology or barbering.

Applicant Requirements – “Sustainable Beginnings” Basic Cosmetology

  • This scholarship is open to new or currently enrolled students in a cosmetology/barbering program that leads to licensure at an accredited school in the U.S.
  • The applicant must be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school or institution.
