Fall 2017 Hair Trends
The seasons change and so do we! When the season changes from warm and balmy to cool and crisp, trading those flip flops for boots is just the beginning of the annual fall makeover. Fall ushers in cooler temperatures and a myriad of colors and kicks off the official start of a holiday season generally packed with parties and events that we all want to look our best for. So before you step into this season’s festivities, check out some of this fall’s hottest hair trends and maybe you’ll be inspired to give your look a cool, fall makeover!
Do try an updo – A pretty updo is not just for prom anymore. We love a loose “messy” updo that can be as tame or wild as your mood. For a more romantic look, we love the curly, woven-looking updo or a vintage braided crown. On the other hand, an updo can be sleek and tidily tucked in a power bun for a look that screams queen of the boardroom.
Playful pixie – Get in touch with your playful side with the classic pixie cut. It’s not so classic any more and can be rocked with an edgy, rocker vibe with longer layers on top and shaved on the sides. Or for a more whimsical look, try it with a wispy, side-swept fringe. This cut works well for closely cropped curls pushed back with a headband for a chic look. The pixie is one of the most versatile styles of the season!
Speaking of curls – The curls have it this season! So don’t fret those who are blessed with natural curls but wish for anything else! Curls are quite hot as the temperature cools and are being celebrated on runways and red carpets alike! Short or long, even bangs…it all works and regular trims will keep your corkscrew mane looking healthy and free of split ends. Keep a good finishing product on hand to help combat any unwanted frizz.
Full-figured follicles – When it comes to your hair, thin is definitely not in! Full, extravagantly full, voluptuous hair is just the ticket to all things stylish this fall. And if you don’t have it like that, fake it till you make it with extensions! Clip in or the more long-lasting extensions, it’s easier than ever to give your hair a burst of volume that will keep heads turning!
Warm up with a little color – Cold weather, warm highlights. Fall is perfect for more than just a pumpkin spice latte. It’s perfect for pumpkin spice color! Warm tones of caramel and deep copper bring some real heat to the autumn air. For those of the fair-haired persuasion, don’t be afraid to experiment and go a little deeper in your chosen hue. A nice “bronde” (dark blonde with light brown tones) is a great way to change your look but not so drastically.
